I began my library career on the first day of the summer reading program in 2010 and fell in love with the library. In 2020, I received my Master’s of Library Science - Youth Services from the University of North Texas. Prior to Helen Hall Library, I have worked in two county systems and in six branches. My passion is early literacy skills building and empowering caregivers to be their child’s first teacher. Building connections with schools, daycares, and community organizations to co-design library programming are the foundations of the modern public library. Working with Darla and Meredith to write a grant, Helen Hall Library became the first Family Place Library in Galveston County.
I am a huge Harry Potter (Huffle Puff) and MCU fan and love to listen to MG audio books. The MG collection is one of my favorite collections to curate in Libby. When I am not at work, my husband and I have a small business. He started the business to sell his self-published books, and it has morphed into what we call “cool stuff you never knew you needed”. We have three 3D printers, a sublimation printer, mug press, heat press, and now a CO2 laser. We show several of our cats all over the country and sell our cool stuff at the shows. When we are home restocking, we like to watch movies and TV together.
