Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar is an absolute blast and probably the most fun movie of the year. It also proves that Kristen Wiig is a comedic genius as she teams back up with Bridesmaids actress Annie Mumolo. Also starring Jamie Dornan and Damon Wayans Jr. as bumbling henchmen, this film will inspire you to put on your mom jeans and get out and party!
The film revolves around two lifelong, middle-aged friends who do everything together in their small town, including live, work, and attend book club together. When their employer goes out of business, Barb and Star decide to try something new for the first time in their lives and go on vacation to Visa Del Mar, where they meet Edgar (Dornan), a henchman for the eccentric villain Sharon Fisherman (also played by Wiig). After a crazy night partying together, Barb and Star's friendship runs into trouble as Star begins spending all of her time with Edgar.
Barb and Star... is chock full of hilarious scenarios, cameos, and one-liners that will leave you needing to pause the movie before the next joke comes along! The film also does a great job of depicting female friendships and middle-age relationships through Wiig's usual quirky comedy.
I highly recommend this film for fans of adult comedies and chick flicks.
