Are you or a loved one ages 12-18? Do you or a loved one like spending their free time at Helen Hall Library?
If you answered yes to both of these questions, send you or your loved one to the upstairs reference desk to pick up a Teen Advisory Board (TAB) Application!
Hate commitment to anything without sufficient information? So do we!
Here at Helen Hall Library we don't skip over the terms and conditions like most ads. So let's start with the basics!
What is Teen Advisory Board?
Teen Advisory Board is a family of Teens who work together to help create AND execute Teen programs with the help of our wonderful Teen Librarian Sheldon Stevens. We are a service group whose members are library ambassadors and community leaders.
What do we do in Teen Advisory Board?
Not only will you gain service hours and gain leadership skills, you will also help plan teen activities, assist with Library events, and more!
Who is Teen Advisory Board for?
As our current TAB members proudly wear; For teens, by teens.
Our main goal is to create a space where teens have programs to attend that they ENJOY not what they have to settle for. Our TAB members do an amazing job at taking feedback from their peers and really putting that into consideration at our monthly meetings where we discuss tweaking programs, getting rid of a program, or even adding new ones! We also enjoy snacks and drinks during our discussions.
How often are the meetings?
We meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month, excluding planning months between semesters.
Still not convinced?
Although this program is definitely a commitment, it's a lot of fun where you make amazing and unlikely friends. It looks amazing on work and college resumes, and is a fun way to give back to your community. New members are welcomed and encouraged!
We hope to see you around sometime!
